I think a blog is a very important web 2.0 tool to use.  It allows the class to connect with each other on a site that is monitored by a teacher.  It allows you to publishing different things that you wrote and others can view and comment on it.  Its a great way to get involved with the other students in your class with out just writing on paper.  One tool that I don't feel is very helpful is twitter.  I feel this site has just been taken over by teens as a " fun" social media website and not as an education social media website.  Its very hard for a teacher to monitor exactly what all her students post on this website.  There is also a lot of room to message and view other peoples profiles that they shouldn't be.

One tool I think I will use is Kahn academy.  It a website that helps you review different topics and sub topics.  There are learning activities, games, study guides, the possibilities are endless.  Most of this website is interactive which also really helps us be engaged with computers.  I think this would be a great tool for students when they need just a little extra help on a topic but don't feel comfortable coming to the teacher!  Heres the link below!

I think the biggest technological advancement would be the 3d printer.   The 3d printer "allows designers to create 3D objects from information created with computer-aided design software and raw materials."  Basically it can make something you print on paper into something 3d.  How cool is that?  This allows students to imagine things to make and also see it made first hand.  By learning how to do this we are letting our students become more knowledgable about computers and all technological advances that are coming into the world today!

I decided to research 4th grade work!  I came across standard   LAFS.4.RI.3.7.  This standard is all about interpreting information not presented necessarily in a traditional way.  It shows information in terms of charts, diagrams, interactive videos etc.  We use these tools so we can then compare to our text information and see exactly how it has helped us arrive to our answer.  I chose to study an example of an activity.  Its labeled as c.014 comprehension, expository text structure and text feature find.  The purpose of the activity is almost like a scavenger hunt.  You will need a book and the worksheet.  The worksheet is set up as a chart and has different things it wants you to look for.  You then go into the book and search for each example and then right yes or no in the chart if you found it.  The examples range from bar charts, to table of content, and even a glossary.  Its suppose to help you familiarize yoursel...

The " Flipped Classroom" is a very interesting and useful concept for students of all ages.  It allows students to watch videos to help prepare them for class the following day.  Class will then be spent answering any questions you may have pertaining to the video.  This allows students to learn not only from the teacher but also another source.  It limits the amount of talking the teacher has to do and allows for more questions to be asked.  It also allows for more classroom time to be used for more productive things.  Its a very cool because teachers have a choice between using videos from an already given site such as khan academy or, make there own videos.  A teacher is able to personalize these videos for his or her teaching them exactly what they want to teach them as appose to them retaining information they don't need to know.  This is also a great thing for students who miss class because it allows them to stay up to date without being th...
