The ELA standards are very important.  The one I would be most able to teach would probably be multimedia. math, history, and science have never really been my strong suit.  I actually struggled with it a lot in high school.  Teaching with more literature and a reading would definitely give me an advantage.  Having a background on the knowledge always helps and it also allows me to better answer question from students.  Its easier to learn more about a subject you like than a subject you don't.
I would love to use Wiki with my students.  " A wiki results in a searchable, free, and dynamic collection of information".  Wiki allows you to look at different articles for research purposes.  Its a site used by many people now a days.  I feel that wiki would be most popular in a middle school aged group.  During middle school we are assigned more research projects and papers.  They are trying to get us to learn exactly how to do research.  Because of that we almost always end up on wiki.  It gives us detailed information about a person place or thing.  Sometimes you can't believe everything you read because just the anything, your responses can be altered on the internet but for the most part it is generally reliable.  When it comes to using computers we need to make sure we focus on digital citizenship.  We need to teach our students to not post false information on the internet and to always report any forms of cyberbullying.  We want to make the usage of technology as safe as possible and a big part of that responsibility relies on the teacher.
The newsletter design assignment was super cool.  As a student who hopes to be teaching elementary school, these newsletters are so popular.  It helps keep parents up to date on whats going on in the classroom and also helps you as a teacher stay on track and organized.  With this newsletter I learned how to make borders, use a textbook, make a fun font. and even add pictures.  I would love to learn more about makings these newsletters and maybe even making it a little more intricate next time!  I can't wait to be making this one day for my own classroom!!

The " Flipped Classroom" is a very interesting and useful concept for students of all ages.  It allows students to watch videos to help prepare them for class the following day.  Class will then be spent answering any questions you may have pertaining to the video.  This allows students to learn not only from the teacher but also another source.  It limits the amount of talking the teacher has to do and allows for more questions to be asked.  It also allows for more classroom time to be used for more productive things.  Its a very cool because teachers have a choice between using videos from an already given site such as khan academy or, make there own videos.  A teacher is able to personalize these videos for his or her teaching them exactly what they want to teach them as appose to them retaining information they don't need to know.  This is also a great thing for students who miss class because it allows them to stay up to date without being th...

Technology and teacher professional development

I learnt that there are so many different websites that can help with professional development.  We were able to see websites that were specific to certain grades and some that were open to all grades.  Its amazing to see how many resources teachers, students, and even parents have. By viewing the bookmarks and annotations of others I was able to see all the different website that could be used for professional development.  Things such as linkedin, discovery education, even crayola.  There were a lot of opportunities for help that I may not have noticed if someone didn't comment on or bookmark them!

Resource Critique Activity

I decided to research 4th grade work!  I came across standard   LAFS.4.RI.3.7.  This standard is all about interpreting information not presented necessarily in a traditional way.  It shows information in terms of charts, diagrams, interactive videos etc.  We use these tools so we can then compare to our text information and see exactly how it has helped us arrive to our answer.  I chose to study an example of an activity.  Its labeled as c.014 comprehension, expository text structure and text feature find.  The purpose of the activity is almost like a scavenger hunt.  You will need a book and the worksheet.  The worksheet is set up as a chart and has different things it wants you to look for.  You then go into the book and search for each example and then right yes or no in the chart if you found it.  The examples range from bar charts, to table of content, and even a glossary.  Its suppose to help you familiarize yoursel...
